DLV 2011 Attendee Survey report, part 3 ...

Postby External Poster » Wed May 18, 2011 7:07 am

This posting is from: Diva Las Vegas
----------

This report contains the general comments received on the DLV 2011
Attendee Survey.
. . . . . . . . . .

It was the best yet, and I say that every year. This was my fifth. Oh
what a week. I'm still decompressing. Love you all....
. . . . .

The best DLV out of the 4 that I have attended. No criticisms.
. . . . .

I used both email and MyDLV, but couldn't check both.

My first visit to Bahama Breeze and the staff was great. I loved the
lower prices at the end of the week too.

This was, for me personally, the Best DLV I've attended. It is a
wonderful group to be associated with.
. . . . .

I will be adding the Bare Escentuals retail outlet store in the Premium
Outlets North to the Big List. I'll send some interesting notes on the
Bare Escentuals experience in a more confidential message.
. . . . .

I had a particularly good experience with the little sister program. We
got along right from the beginning and I was able to help her First mall
visit first time out in the day. first makeover. the list is long and
she was very appreciative.
. . . . .

Appropriate dress will always be an issue, whether it be ball gowns to a
dinner or show or super-short tight miniskirts on 6'3" ladies, not sure
what can be done about it. Probably nothing as it is all about
individual tastes. Both draw unnecessary attention, but that is what the
wearer wants.
. . . . .

above question about discussions online: yahoo group discussion and my
dlv - can only choose one button, but actually wanted to select both
. . . . .

Wonderful, wonderful event. I appreciate all the effort that went into
making it possible. Thanks.
. . . . .

This was my first DLV and first time out,in public. I could not be
happier with how the event was run and the acceptance I received.
. . . . .

The question of how much we lost gambling should have allowed us to put
in how much we won.
. . . . .

DLV was my first dressing in public and it was the best experience ever.

I only wish I had done this earlier in life. I only stayed two days,
but will be there next year for the whole week. I like the timing and
prefer it when it is cooler, since I tend to overheat with wig on etc.

So this time or earlier. I thought the Artisan ended up as a bad choice
for the Opening, crowded and dinner was long and difficult, never heard
if a picture got taken. Need a hotel with capacity. Everything should
be paperless, good job. Emails rather than tweats, that way we can stay
anonymous.
. . . . .

I printed out the schedule and it was all of 25 pages long. Since it is
to be so long anyway, you may as well include instructions on how to get
to an event, like be sure to mention if it is at a consino or if it is
in a mall. Last year I had trouble with finding things, this year I
also had some trouble but not as much because I knew where some things
were. First time people will find it a daunting task to find their way
around like I did last year when it was my first time.
. . . . .

I would only attend another DLV if I knew Girls who were going and had
my own little click to hang with.
. . . . .

Friendly bunch of new gurls this year. Thank you so much for doing this.
. . . . .

One concern was I thought that the e-mail leading up to the event were
overkill. It got to the point I stopped reading them and probably missed
info I could have used during the event. The the final event listing was
extreme as well. Also regarding the final event listing had info that
was not really applicable like the venue phone number. It would have
been better for me to have the coordinators phone number there. Thanks
. . . . .

During DLV 2011, did you ever give or attempt to give another attendee
some unsolicited advice or constructive criticism regarding dress,
appearance, mannerisms, etc.?

Yes, and it was received positively. At least, I think it was. Here is
what transpired. As we were leaving the Artisan and I was saying my
good-byes to all the girls, I noticed one gal sitting in the leather EZ
chairs next to the bar and to the right of the steps to the restaurant.
Anyway, she was sitting all the way back into the chair, totally relaxed
and with her legs wide open. I swear it was like looking into the
Holland Tunnel. Well, I made my way up to her and gently grabbed her
knees and closed them for her, then I gingerly and kindly told her that
women don't sit like that. They other women must have heard, I'm sure
they saw what I had done, and laughed. I don't think they were laughing
at her but laughing at what had transpired. I hope she didn't take
offense. I was just trying to help her be more lady-like.
. . . . .

I am 10 years post op and have no issues passing in the real world. I
was a little uncomfortable at times only because I choose to draw as
little attention to myself as possible. I think that your event is a
wonderful venue for those folks that it is designed for. I enjoyed
myself and met some very nice people. Thanks,
. . . . .

Please forgive me, but we need to enforce dress codes! Fairy God Mother
needs to go, as well as the androgynous stuff. Boy or girl, those who
can't figure it out well they should wait till they do, as well as those
huge fake breasts and BDSM crap. Its hard enough not to draw attention
to a group of GG's, but a large crowd of gurls with a fetish problem
forget it. When I attend DLV I don't want to attend a circus, I got a
lot a ?'s from some of the new girls concerning it, since it draws
attention to them as well as the clowns. The goal should be to try and
pass and do the best job each omne can. Private venus such as the EHM
well its fine, but public venues its really inappropriate. Maybe they
should hang out on east Freemont street where they can get the attention
they want.
. . . . .

I think DLV was VERY well planned & carried out for the few events I
attended. I would like to thank all of you for your efforts & hard
work.
. . . . .

1. I think DLV is an amazing production and a great opportunity for a CD
like me to have new experiences in public. I am very grateful to all
who made this possible.

2. As a fairly closeted CD, limo tour was a little too much public
exposure for me. Not a criticism -- probably not the best fit for me.

3. Four Seasons tea was my favorite activity.

4. LWG is nice -- did Hilton and Harrahs. Fun experience.

5. PT's wasn't so great. We can probably do better.

6. Firefly was quite nice.

7. Now for the real comment: I think that DLV participants attending
events labeled as "mainstream" should dress "mainstream". I was
embarrassed by the rediculous red satin period gowns that one
participant wore to mainstream events (Frank Marino show, limo tour). I
think it lets the whole group down for one participant to show up in
costume while the rest are trying to look legitimate.

8. I almost missed out on the high tea because I didn't know who I
needed to pay. If activity leaders could just wear a name tag at early
events that say "Ask me about the Tea Party", others could easily find
them.

9. Overall a wonderful event. Thank you all!
. . . . .

First, I commend you for being as paperless as you are. Here are a
couple suggestions, from a fellow geek to another as I know you are. For
the map, you really need detail. Use a Google map and set up points of
interest for the event locations. Somebody needs directions, they can
get them from Google. Needs more detail, zoom in. Want to know distance,
easy.

Next, don't use tweets for free drinks, do them for important things
like schedule and deadline reminders. Don't send out a huge ginormous
mailing, break it up and send out a mailing and schedule daily. Everyone
these days should have a laptop or phone which receives text.
. . . . .

Sorry to make a second survey but ran out of room and thought. Dress.
Something needs to be done. I know you don't want to be the bad guy, but
when an event is in the mainstream, the ball gown has to go.

This is real life real world and not a costume party.

Would your wife wear something like that to public places? That should
be the "test" to see what's appropriate. You have so many events where
it's ok to go fantasy, that there is no reason for 1-2 gurls to put on a
drag show every night. Save the ball gown for the places it's
appropriate. Sorry for being such a crab about it.
. . . . .

I have to hand it to you. Of all the CD/TG events I've been to, Diva is
the funnest and the best organized. You have the formula down pat and it
works well. I wish I had the energy to do more of the events than I did.
Annie and Joanne really outdid themselves this year.

The gurls are very friendly and just a joy! Most of them look so good
too. Thank you all again and again.
. . . . .

Please keep up the magnificent hard work that goes into planning these
events. I had the best time of my life....Well done!
. . . . .

.. and I usually stay out to 2 or 3 AM every night and missed all
of the morning and midday activities. I would also like to see the golf
tournament start at a more sane hour like 10:30AM to 12:00 Noon start
time. Otherwise everything was outstanding as usual. Oh I almost forgot.
When are we going back to Pharump?
. . . . .

I would of attended more activities, but I injuried my calf at Golf and
it hampered my mobility and endurance.
. . . . .

i had to cancel about a week before, due to unforseen personal
circumstances, hence the blank response.
. . . . .

better outreach programs to appeal to a younger crowd. like in most
support forums younger girls (like myself) tend to get sidelined/ignored
by the older crowd.
. . . . .

sorry on arrival was called away for work emergency so did not stay in
town.. I cried.
. . . . .

Thank you for everything! This is one of those high points in life.
I haven't come down yet.
. . . . .

I had a dream some time ago. I dreamed I was in a casino, in a flower
print dress, sheer pantyhose, heels, lipstick, playing the slot machine.
Just being myself the way I want to be. Waitresses were bring me drinks
and calling me maam and treating me like a lady, as I wanted to be.

Well thanks to you my dream came true and I will be forever indebted.

Diva just keeps getting better and better every year.
. . . . .

whoever writes your web and newsletters has a great sense of humor.
. . . . .

I copied the online DLV map. It was usually so bad, I was late to a few
activities and got lost MANY times!

I suggest posting a better City map. Or, leave it up to individuals to
get their own!
. . . . .

Forget the limo tour. When girls want to blend in and relax you can't
do it when twenty or thirty girls all gather just to take pictures of
them selves at every opportunity. I felt like most of the girls went to
take pictures and that was all. T many girls do not make an effort to
look their best.
. . . . .

Oh what a week. Best time of my life. Only regret is not doing this
sooner. I'm counting the days allready.
. . . . .

Longer limo ride. I swear this used to be longer with more stops.
. . . . .

Being my first time in Vegas, I had difficulties finding where things
were held and how to get there. Also once there, where in the building
is it. The name of entrances are given, but I don't know the name of
the entrances and they aren't marked. Next year will be easier since I
have already been there. Also, where I stayed was 30 min away from
everything, but with traffic, it could take 2 hours to get there.
. . . . .

Suggestion. Your information was helpful and accurate from what I saw
but missing in one important area. Pleas add a "Getting there and
getting around" section for those who never visited Vegas before.
Example. When I landed I had no idea how to get to the Imperial. I took
a cab and I think I was long routed but there's no way I know. $18
dollars not counting tip. Then I found out there were shuttles for $8.
Also a general familiarizing of the streets. Your information assumes I
know something about Vegas already.
. . . . .

Overall DLV was the Best vacation I have ever had. In fact, I would say
it was one of the most enjoyable weeks of my whole life. I will be back
again next year!
. . . . .

Has anyone been patted down or wand scaned at the airport when flying
dressed?
. . . . .

The only thing I can say about DLV is why in the hell did I wait so long
to try it? I've known about you for maybe 10yrs and finally got around
to it and kicking myself for not going all these years. This was the
best time of my life, honestly.
. . . . .

My only negative experience was raw salmon at the Artisan Monday night,
I sent back to the chef and then it was burnt; I have never sent food
back to the kitchen my entire life. I woke up sick the following day and
that pretty much ruined Tuesday as it took 20 hours to recover.
. . . . .

For a volunteer-led effort it was incredibly well run. Thanks!
. . . . .

The welcome event at the artesan was the best DVL event of all times.
. . . . .

Help me understand this. Do you or do you not enforce dress code? You
say no costumes for main-stream, right? An antebelum ball gown is a
costume, no? Why is this not being enforced? Thanks.
. . . . .

Is there any way to publish who is signed up for each event?
. . . . .

Since we were having makeovers occurring at Macys we should of arranged
some shopping within Macys and/or in the Fashion Mall.
. . . . .

As a hotel selection, I can say that MGM Grand exceeded my expectations.
The room was perfect and I was given the best of treatment by the staff.
. . . . .

I enjoyed the opportunity to be out in public in a non threatening
environmrent however I did feel somewhat threatened and to some extent
hurt by by some of the comments made by tourists.
. . . . .

I know Diva is not therapy, but I owe my life to Diva. Without Diva I
don't know where I would be.

I know Diva is not a support group, but the support I've got from those
I've met is invaluable.

I know Diva is not a convention but you've got SCC and CGR beat hands
down.

Diva is one in a million. Keep up the good work.
. . . . .

Sorry for calling so many times for schedule and directions. I ignored
printing them and surely paid for it. My fault, sorry.

The Rio was ripe with hookers and one of tehm looked like could be TG. I
was afraid the secutity cops would approach me. Next year I'm staying at
Artesian, far more feiendly.

Diva was the most fun I ever remember, thanks again so much.
. . . . .

At Paris, the meeting at Gustavs bar didn't quite seem to work. There
was no real "exit now for dinner". I'm not sure I have a better
suggestion, as it was abit disjointed at Mon Ami Gabi - perhaps meet at
the bar inside Mon Ami. This is not a a big concern in any case.
. . . . .

On the instructions on how to get to an event. I have a hard time
finding Trevi's. It would have been most helpfull to have said it was
at Ceaser's Palace. Anytime an event is located at a consino, it should
be mentioned if it is inside a consino. Or if an event is at a shopping
mall it should be so stated also.
. . . . .

Did I feel like giving constructive criticism? Yes, the hoop skirt gown.
I really felt like saying something, but iot's not my place. That is not
for the main stream. Things like that spoil it for all.
. . . . .

With the exception of "windy Thursday", the weather was beautiful. Try
for April 15-22, 2012. This is after Easter & Passover.
. . . . .

Harrah's Buffet was OK, but the food selection was the most limited of
any buffets we visited. The service was OK, but the poor waiter had
limited ability, regardless he tried his best to get the drinks
straight. He was very nice and told us to look for him next year and
also give us souvenir playing cards.
. . . . .

When a locale is further away than the map might indicate (i.e.
Chalupas) it might be worthwhile to mention it is four miles (or
whatever it is) out. I really thought I had gone too far and missed it.

I had a fair number of not so nice comments made to me at the IP. It
was not the hotel staff, who were pleasant. It may just have been the
mix of people there, but it occurred. Check In lines at IP were about 50
minutes.

All in all, a truly great event - the above comments are just nits.
. . . . .

Chapalas Mexican food was excellent but to far away from the strip.
Made it difficult to be at Erotic Heritage on time. Felt rushed.
. . . . .

I had trouble findng places and people to direct me. There should be a
central place staffed so new people can find their way. I missed many
events. Too bad since all the girls seemed nice. Any way a central depot
is needed, please put one in, taxis are expensive.
. . . . .

Clean up the email notices. They are way too long, repetitive, and
contain a lot of stuff that can be condensed.
. . . . .

I thought that some of the event coordinators did not take their
responsibility seriously and it led to chaos on more than one occasion.
. . . . .

Ending on Saturdays is much easier and nicer. Missed the Sunday events
because of the start. Being directly on the strip made the trip much
more expensive. Make sure all can participate in happy hours. At the
Artisian, we missed out because we were trying to help by being early.
Paid twice as much for our drinks. Will not do that again.
. . . . .

sorry got called away left sunday PM missed entire meetings ---
. . . . .

I really love the choices for eating, but choices choices choices. I was
really torn between Margaville and Mon Ami, and then between Namasta and
Marinos. Decisions, decisions, what's a girl to do.
. . . . .

Keep up the good work!
. . . . .

Forget the limo tour, terriby disorganizwed and a waste of time and
money...literly a joke.
. . . . .

Favorite events: Erotic Heritage, Limo tour
Least favorite: Charles bar, Paris dance
. . . . .

Keep up the "good work" Thanks so much!!!
. . . . .

Food at the Artisan was not worht the price we paid. and my so got very
sick from the raw Samo dinner. as well as I did from the dinner I had.
. . . . .

When signing up I would like to sign up for alternative activity if I am
put on waiting list for first activity.
. . . . .

Also could I suggest for you to cut down on the number of resturant
choices. At times there was just too damn many choices. It also spread
out the people way too thin, some of the people who may have showed at
the restuarts may have been only 1 or 2 people who showed up. I suggest
only 2 and no more than 3 options. 4-5 options per nite is just too
damn many.
. . . . .

Best Diva ever.
. . . . .

This was the best DLV by far of all I made it to! Artesian is a very
nice place. Totally classy.

Great bunch of gurls, and guys too. Everyone a lady or gentleman.

Diva 2011 exceeded my expectations by far! The best every.

There was one comment about if there was makeup at Macy's could there be
shopping @ Macy's or @ the fashion mall.

I would love to be part of that kind of event. My guess is that Macys
may be willing to assign a shopping assistant with us.

I would love to be connected with whoever runs the makeup event there.

Another idea I saw in the evaluations was a shoe shopping trip.
Wonderful idea.
