No delaying, no, not nun

Just wanted to remind everyone that now is a good time to pick up a nun
habit, if you're not serious enough about it to get a real one. I've
seen the costume ones from $20-$30, and even $10 on Ebay. After
Halloween, they may be harder to find.

Also, wooden crosses are extremely rare. Every costume shop I've tried
is sold out. I have a couple of silver San Domiano crucifixes coming
and can turn you on to a source for those, will pick up a few wooden
ones if I can find them. There is a genuine silver cross on Ebay, one
that a nun would receive for confirmation, so far up to $99, currently
too rich for my blood with all of the halloween stuff I have to buy, but
if you want to put on the dog, there it is. If anyone finds a deal on
real wooden crosses (not the plastic ones), please let me know.

I will be sewing at least one habit, made from a costume as a pattern.
I may do an extra one or two loaners if I hear from people who want to
wear them.

Look forward to drinking, gambling, swearing in the casinos with those
of you who have the stones, uh, courage to do it. I think it will be a
riot.

Complaints that this will make the group look bad, etc. are not
necessary...nobody is going to know who the hell we are anyway.

Girl,

if you got the "cojones", Go For It! I probably won't be able to join in the
fun this year due to timing conflict. This year DLV is scheduled around the
time I will have finals at the university. But I wish you lots of luck in
your endeavor. It would be a hoot to see a nun drinking and gambling in a
casino. It might be fun also to surround yourself with a few good looking
hunks and a few hooker types for that added shock!

Hi All,

Did I miss the date announcement? Is it the week with Mother's Day as the
Sunday (2nd Sunday), I though it was the week before. That would be very
unfortuneate, Mother's Day is usually a weekend long thing around my place.
(Too many Mothers..., none of whom speak to each other.)

Love ya,

Gina

That is a shame, but of course, there is no way we could come up with a
date that works for everyone. You could do just a weekend...I think I
did three days of it the first time I went, which was...1998? ANSI?

Sometimes it can be difficult to find people who have the nerve to do
some of the outrageous things that I plan, but I'll bet we have a few;
after all, it takes a lot of courage just to show up and take an active
part in DLV.

I think Tony is going to videotape the nuns in the casino thing, which
will probably have a better turnout than the nuns at the Del-Mar trying
to get a room and an adult movie. Maybe we can get some footage of both
and sell it to a reality TV show. Maybe I should say "television show".

Yes, you first did DLV in 1998, and IIRC you drove in Friday afternoon
and left Sunday morning. DLV 1998 ran from Friday evening thru Monday,
but we had our biggest "crowds", if you could call them that, at
Goodtimes on Friday and at the show on Saturday. We had a large handful
that Sunday, and a small handful that Monday.

The good thing about DLV is that it's explicitly intended for those who
*CAN'T* make the whole thing as much as for those who can.

I would like to encourage those who can't make the whole week in May to
come for what they can. I know, for example, Mothers Day is an issue to
some, but for those who have to (>>>HINT<<<) they can depart Saturday
evening and still get it almost all of DLV.

Seriously, you better check with the casino you plan to tape in. Most of
them prohibit any photography in the gaming areas, with film or video
being a major no-no most places. I know I was technically in violation
of Sahara's photo policy when I took a (still, no flash) shot of Tony's
royal flush.

Well said sis! I am not at all comfortable with the Nun thing! I would
not like to degrade cathholic nuns. I am not Catholic, but I would not
make fun or nor degrade them, as I would not Black people, Hispanics,
Jews, or anyone else!

Can we not have fun without that kind of thing?

Kinda hard to miss. It was announced in the Jul-Aug general mailing with
a call for comments. Then announced in the Aug-Sep mailing as final.

This coming year it's May 3-8, which is Monday thru Saturday, the week
before Mothers Day. Mothers Day is the 9th.

Good point. I suppose I could hide a camera underneath the habit, and
then I want to roll the tape, I could just lift up my skirt.
Umm...maybe not.

We might have to do the taping at the Del-Mar. Interestingly enough,
just as Tony and I were talking about this, we saw an episode of
"Trigger Happy TV" where a nun was on the driving range, swearing up a
storm when she missed a shot. So, that has been done, but at least I
haven't seen anyone do the scene at an adult motel.

Hi all,

The nun-o-rama-rampage sounds like lots of fun. I do realize it is an
event that not many will be involved in but many will have fun with. It
is just sick enough to be to much fun.......:+)

With that said, I just read the dress/behavior code we must all abide by
if we want to be involved with the DLV in all future events. Now, I do
understand all that it says since I read it twice... a major event for
a slow reader like myself ...giggle.

I read that ANY behavior in a public location, during DLV, that will
bring negative or unwanted attention to the DLV group and TSs in
general, is frowned upon. In fact, if one is not dressed appropriately
in a public area, others will take her aside and point this out and
make her change or she cannot attend the function.

Now, am I missing something here? TG Nuns acting non-nunlike in a casino
and no-tell motel is not going to draw negative and unwanted attention
to DLV and TGs?

I for one see unwanted Law Inforcment/Security written all over this.
Maybe even News at 11 type of trouble. To many uptight Catholics still
out there (like my ex-inlaws). What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas...
with a population well over a million people now, that's a BIG place
for it to stay in. I guess we could say "what happens in Vegas stays in
Vegas... and the people there will remember TGs being bad all over the
news!". What do the sisters that live in Vegas think of this?

If a group of us want to dress like hookers (not being hookers, just
dressing like them) and walk through a casino..... well, you see what I
mean. If there are going to be rules, then EVERYONE needs to follow the
rules...... sounds a bit unfair but that is what rules are for. If the
ad-hock group has spent all of this time putting these rules down on
Digital paper, then this is a serious thing we must all honor.

I see this type of thing even causing a bit of public ripple during
Halloween, which has open license for almost anything but injury and
death, but more would have fun with it at that time.

I am one for fun and all of you know that my dress is at times a bit
"bright". I am scaling back from now on so others will not be offended
and I will blend more with the group and set the proper image we are
ALL attempting to portray.

DLV, a vacation and not News bite.

Hugs to all, LeeAnna
