Thanks Stacy! :)

Quite a bit of effort went in to testing and QAing this.

For those who don't know what we're talking about, we made some tweaks to the main page of the DLV web site. It now has a more current look, common selections are at eye level, and it's much better on mobile devices.

Big thanks go out to our "proofread team" for shaking this down on various platforms. :)

Yes, our event is coming up earlier in the year than it has ever come! We're coming up on the three month mark! :)

It's the front page to the main site:

http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/

That's the one that most new people land on.

You're probably referring to the MyDLV Discussion Forum. That has not changed (yet). There's a similar tweak in the works to give it a look more consistent with the newer pages on the site. This probably will not get rolled out before DLV 2014.

Don't worry! This is a tune-up and not a tear-down. Nobody's logins, bookmarks, etc. will break.

A group of volunteers, all of whom serve on one of two committees. Everything we send out to the teeming millions as a mass mailing or a web site update gets reviewed rather thoroughly. It's kind of one of those behind the scenes jobs. Sending out bad information can be embarrassing and is impossible to fully retract.

Having trouble in IE with the links in the top menu area. They don't seem to work.

Thanks for the report. Good catch! You are correct. I'll get this fixed ASAP. My hunch is that for some reason IE does not like certain elements between <a ..> and </a>

As a sanity check I ran the code through the W3C validator again and both the html and css test clean without any errors.

I'm surprised that we missed this one. I tested it myself with IE8 and I know some of the others who QA'd the page used IE as well.
