I was wondering if the Monorail is a good choice for transportation
around town or is it just better to take a taxi?

Is there a way to find others going to the same places, etc? I think I
saw something some where about a cell phone some thing but I can't
remember where I saw that.

The Monorail is great for traveling along the east Strip corridor,
but unfortunately it only makes 7 stops, one of which is at a
currently closed property. I usually use it on most trips to Las
Vegas.

The DLV activities which are convenient to Monorail stops will
be noted on the final schedule.

I find that I enjoy DLV much better if I do not drive a vehicle.
I can easily cover the cost of a Monorail pass plus 1-3 taxi
rides per day with what I do not spend on a rental car.

And, for a very good general overview of the Monorail, with some
excellent photos (VBFG) surf here:

We're asking for attendees' cell phone numbers (strictly
voluntary) on the activity sign-up screen. We assure all that
they will be used for official business only and not given out.
We have no plans to publish them. If it's urgent, the DLV
contact people will relay a reasonable number of messages.

Please feel free (at your OWN RISK - once that number is out
there, that bell can never be un-rung!) to use the Discussion
Forum or the "chirp" mechanism for such things as exchanging
contact info, phone numbers, who is going where, doing what,
etc.

Hi Veronica.

For the regular out and abouter and for those who are not the least bit
shy > The Mono rail is fine but the last time I used it which
admittedly was quite few years ago so this may have changed but at that
time the seats were arranged facing each other in the traveling
direction of the tram , So I would advise cabs for the shy and timid.

Also the mono rail was not cheap transportation either so you will find
that a cab may only cost you only 1 or $2 more than the same trip and
you will be delivered right to the entrance of your choice ( And if you
smile sewwtly the cab doors might be held open for you as you get out )
**Wink**...With a small tip added in this will make for a nice
rerelaxing commute to wherever you are going to.

That's my 2
cents. or $2

Huggers. Katie
