What is Lunch With Ginger ...

This is the first (for DLV 2011, anyway) of our "What Is" series of activity highlights which will appear on the DLV Discussion Forum between now and the big event in April. Today we talk about Lunch With Ginger.

Lunch With Ginger is one of our more popular recurring activities and has been ongoing for many years.

Everybody has to eat! Quite a few of us don't like to eat alone.

Lunch With Ginger is an informal lunch get-together for all DLVers which occurs at 1:00pm Monday thru Friday of DLV week. Lunch With Ginger is normally host(ess)ed by Ginger, one of our long-time senior volunteers, but occasionally an alternate host or hostess may pinch hit.

Lunch With Ginger now occurs in a different venue each day, with all of them located on or near the main Las Vegas Strip area. It's usually a buffet, but occasionally other types of restaurants are used. The venue will usually be moderate in scale, but occasionally a higher-end buffet will be used. Locations will appear on the final schedule and map distributed in the Large Final Mailing.

For those who are just coming out or don't yet have the feel of confidence in general public settings, Lunch With Ginger is a great opportunity to get those "mainstream flight hours" in an atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual support!

Lunch With Ginger is a "no sign-up, just show-up" activity, and either boymode or girlmode dress, very casual to moderately dressy, is appropriate. Cost varies.

I know we're in the good graces of at least one of the food service people. Some may remember last year at LWG at the Harrah's Buffet, one of the servers recognized our group while we were waiting on line. She then requested us for her area.
