Fornicatoria (was Re: Diva suggestion)

LOL, it's "fornicatorium" (n. pl.: fornicatoria), of which
the long-demolished Del Mar Motel was a good example. A good

I picked up the term from a guy who used to teach English
in a hard-core inner-city high school decades ago. He may
have picked it up from the students. :)

A few good pieces of early DLV lore revolve around the Del Mar. :)

The Pool Party actually happened - twice IIRC. It was part
of the old SBS Garden Party. One year it was much too cool
for swimwear, however. There are various photos of this
scattered among the follow-up pages.

I look back on these fondly as well ...

The one I most remember was a very relaxing one on a Saturday
morning and afternoon following a rather intense Friday evening.

It was cool, but not cold. Perfect for hanging out in the back
yard, but unfortunately too cool for swimming. Perfect for
recovering from the night before. :)

We had a very good crowd, good food, grilling in the back and
all kinds of stuff inside.

You could even call it "mainstream", as there was a collection
of kids, dogs, and neighbors there, yet it was comfortable for
those just peeking out of the closet.

I would love to have something like this brought back to DLV.
