Wild Hogs............Huh?

Hello Ladies

This is Amy from Sydney Australia.

Firstly I want to say thank for you a fantastic event, I had a great
time (it was my first DLV) and I'll be back next year. DLV met all my
expectations of a social get-together/party/vacation etc. All of you
were very welcoming and friendly. I can't wait for next year.

I am very sorry to bring this up again (Pls forgive me)

The comments regarding the "Wild Hogs", was that really necessary? We
are all different but the same. I know some of the `Wild Side' girls
from the internet and yes, they are different and a little to the
left, however, SO? Why can't we all respect each other for who we
are? Are you girls judging them because of their sexuality or perhaps
they're transitioning? Help me understand? Gina, this is not an
attack on you ok

If you want my 2 cents worth, next time, let security deal with the
issue, not the DLV organisers. It was a `public' venue and a `public'
bar, not a DLV private function. I hope I don't upset anyone with my
comments, that's not my intention

Hugz
Amy

Unfortunately, and I hate to think of this happening,
but it may take just such an incident to give some
people a clue that a mainstream venue means mainstream
dress and mainstream behavior.

We've seen it before that when security acts, they act
quickly and they don't ask questions. They don't care
who is with whom or who did what.

There are very few generalities in the TG community,
but there is one thing I've noticed very consistently
over the years, and not to admit my real age but I've
been involved with the TG community since the early
1970s.

That is that those who are really and truly on the
transition track (meaning really and truly seeking to
live 100% full-time, socially, professionally, and
intimately) are very considerate of their sisters (and
brothers) and care very much about the overall image
of the TG community.

Quite honestly, I didn't see that in the people in
question.

Hello Amy,

Please remember, dlvdisc is a OPEN forum to
discuss DLV activities. Anyone can express
their opinions.

It may NOT be in agreement with anyone or
everyone else.

It is NOT the official voice of DLV.

The "wild hogs" was a comment made by Lisa DC
submitted to this forum, and represents only
that person's opinion or viewpoint. Its up to
those reading it to decide if they agree or not.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and
can express them in this forum. They must also
be ready for the responses to that opinion, like
how you are doing.

You might want to direct what you are saying to the
one who sent the email or those individuals that
agree to it. Not to DLV in general or as a organization.

Please understand, I'm not looking to start an
argument with you about this, but I do ask for your
understanding on this matter.

I don't want to restart the whole issue up again.

I've heard every side of this saga. I guess it comes down to this:

- Deal with it ourselves with the individual concerned and hopefully only
her and her friends will be affected (ie leave)

- Let security deal with it and find that we all get evicted

While I doubt that the latter would have happened in Bellagio at Charles
Bar, I suspect it would have in other locations where we are less well
known.

As I understand the decision here was based on the person's appearance
and it was not until much latter that it was established the person was
from Wild Side. It was only when she was confronted that it was
ascertained she was not registered as a DLV attendee anyway.

My issue here was not whether or not she should be confronted but
whether the DLV organisers and there were quite a few there actually had
a conflab to agree to confront her. Seemed like a unilateral decision
although that was not apparent top me (at least) at the time.

AMY; I kind of think your comments are valid though, maybe we should
have left security handle it in that location at that time.

Hugs
Michelle
