Haloween events

I am planning to make a trip to Las Vegas the weekend just prior to
Haloween and am wondering if anyone can provide information re any
special parties or events, or does all that happen on Haloween itself?

If so, I might be able to stay. Thanks so much for any suggestions. I'm
comfortable going just about anywhere, but would love to attend a
costume event with dancing.

What kind of dancing are you looking for? The Barn Dance here is going to
be on October 20th (Saturday) 6:30 to 10:00 PM and costumes are optional.
Expect two waltzes, lots of contra dancing, and depending on the caller,
perhaps a square dance or two. This is a mainstream group, the location is
Charleston Heights Arts Center (CHAC).


CONTRA DANCING

SATURDAY, October 20, 2007 - Halloween dance

Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush Street, LV

6:30, introductory session, 7 - 10, dancing to the new SAGEBRUSH STRINGBAND

Cost: General admission:$7; members of SNOCD, students,active military: $5;
children under 16 and observers: $3.

Directions: CHAC is one block west of Arizona Charlies, and 2 blocks
northwest of the intersection of W. Charleston Blvd. and Decatur Blvd. From
Highway 95, take the Decatur exit, go south on Decatur for 4 stoplights, and
turn right on Evergreen St. This is the street between the Arizona
Charlie's Casino and their parking lot to the south. Go west on Evergreen,
and at the first stop sign, turn left onto Brush St. CHAC is the 2nd
building on the right.

Future Contra / Old-TIme Barn Dances at CHAC: November 3, 24 (Thanksgiving
potluck), December 29 (Winter Fest). Generally, the last Saturday of the
month, PLUS, generally the 2nd Saturday of the month.
