Thanks for the Great DLV05 Everybody!

Hello everyone!

Before I get into my rather lengthy critique of my
experiences this past week (this was my first DLV), I
just want to say that this is the longest I ever lived
en femme (7 days -- all in heels to boot!) This was
one of the best week's I've ever experienced in my
life! Thank you all for making that possible!

As some of you know, I was supposed to attend another
7 day conference that my company sent me to Vegas for.
With DLV happening at the same time, I only managed
to attend 1 day of that conference(and I cut that
short) to attend NSDII.

As a transwoman (a female trapped in a man's body),
DLV afforded me the opportunity to be Elise and to
really explore my femminity for an entire week. (This
is a problem for me as I am married w/children, and
because of that, can't dress as often as I would
like).

Now on to the critique: (I attended DLV from Sat 4/23
thru Fri 4/29, so here are my thoughts on what I
attended).

Elise's Top Moments:

Meeting this wonderful group.
Dressing en femme for 7 consecutive days (all in heels!)
High Tea at the Four Seasons
Limo tour
Dinner at Bertolini's
A couple of trips to the MAC cosmetics counter at the
Forum Shoppes.
Meeting Susan and Kay

Elise's Low Moments:

The end of DLV
Hamburger Mary's
Having my beautiful acrylic tips removed prior to flying home
Getting told by San Remo security that "you girls"
gotta use the unisex bathroom. (What an insult, as I
pass extremely well!)

Saturday 4/23: Pre-arrival cocktails at San Remo bar
and food in the restaurant afterwards:

Comment: I liked meeting the girls for the first
time. Everyone was very friendly. I even met Crystal
Frost (my assigned Big Sis) and Holli for the first
time. (I had swapped numerous e-mails with Crystal
prior to DLV). Afterwards, a few of us girls later
went to eat at the San Remo's restaurant, including
Annie. (What a darling she is!)

The food at the San Remo was really bad. Stay away!
(Perhaps when Hooters takes over try their wings!) I
had the prime rib and it was dry and tough, as well as
the veggies were really bad (too starchy).

Sunday, April 24:

Happy Hour at Hamburger Mary's

Comments: Nice to meet even more of the attendees.
This was a great ice breaker. The girls were very
friendly to me.

Dinner at Hamburger Mary's

Comments: As I mentioned above, this was my first
DLV. In the past on a business trip, I had a
wonderful time at a Hamburger Mary's (as Elise) in
West Hollywood, CA. I had expected a similar
experience. All I can say was the service was poor.
First off, we waited too long for menus, then the food
took too long to come to the table. When it did, it
was cold. Since I was famished, I ate it anyway. One
of the folks at my table, her order was so late, that
when it finally arrived, most people were leaving to
go to Zingers. After dinner, a Nascar group (I think
that is what they were) of macho men were beginning to
fill the place making me feel a bit intimidated.
Bottom line -- the service stinks!

What: Welcome Celebration at Zingers Night Club:

Comment: It would have been nice if Annie or some of
the volunteer organizers would have gotten on stage
and welcomed everyone to DLV and offered their cell
phone or reach info if you are lost, forget what time,
venue, etc. Also, a review of some of the week's
activities as well as deadlines and who to pay and
when for events would have been nice. I had the
printed contact numbers, but a friendly welcome would
have been a nice touch. (Especially for us
"newbies").

Monday, April 25:

Side trip to Valley Of Fire

Comment: We all met at Zingers parking lot. Four of
us rode in a car. In the car I rode was Michelle (NZ)
(driving), her wife Susan and Ginger's wife Kay.

All I could say is that Susan and Kay absolutely
embraced me as the woman that I am. They were
sympathetic and supportive, as well as offered
suggestions on how to handle my wife. They were
absolutely one of highlights of my week. THANK YOU SO,
SO MUCH! YOU ARE SUCH ANGELS!!!

Oh, by the way, I did the Valley of Fire in heels!
What an experience! During the stops, I met some
other attendees all of whom were so, so friendly.

Little Girl Tea Party and Slumber Party

Comment: Including Sarona and Susie, we totaled 7. I
had a great time. Beforehand, I purchased a
"goldilocks" costume, ruffled panties and ruffled sox
at Glamour Boutique. As you know, this tea party is
for those who want to dress up as a little girl and do
little girl things -- play jacks, sip apple juice and
fruit punch from a sippy box, etc. (I had never
attended anything like this before, so it was an
experience).

When I dressed in my costume, I did not look like a
little girl, but rather as a "naughty girl", more like
the St. Pauli Girl on the bottle of beer. We all
ordered Chinese food. You had to see the expression
on the delivery man's face. It was priceless! All of
us t-girls dressed as little girls. What a funny time
that was. I also brought some clothes to do a fashion
show. Most people liked what I brought. We later
changed into lingerie for the slumber party. Several
of us left and did not stay the night.

Tuesday, April 26:

Night Of The Soiled Doves II

Comments: I again was fortunate enough to ride this
time with just Kay (driving) and Susan. Again, they
are absolutely the kindess spouse's anyone could ask
for. (Michelle and Ginger -- you got a good thing
going!)

As far as NSDII, Kay and I spoke at length to the
Chicken Ranch's business manager (I forget her name).
She was not a working girl, but just an office worker.
She said that one day Brad Pitt came to the ranch,
not for sex, but to see it first hand. Kay and I
walked through the brothel searching for Aiko as we
volunteered to be bar maids. In the confusion, Aiko
reassigned the chore to some other folks.

Despite the long drive, I had a good time. I just
wish we went indoors as I was cold and a bit bored
just sitting by the pool in the dark. I'm sure others
felt the same way.

Eating Out Night:

Bertolini's at Caesars Palace Forum Shoppes.

Comment: Most of you know that I am usually very
early to most things. As 6:00 rolled around, I was
the only one at the restaurant. There was a table set
for 20 some odd folks. I was worried that I might be
the only one to attend. Fashionably late, (20 mins or
so), others started to show up, including Michelle,
Susan, Ginger, Kay and Gina. Since we had a show to
catch afterwards, it would be nice not to have to
rush.

The food on the other hand was superb Italian food.
(That, coming from a tough New York critic!) The
service was pretty good as well. I strongly recommend
the merlot wine, caesar's salad, veal parmesean and
tiramisu. A few of us had that. All agreed that it
was yummy! (The prices were moderate, so be prepared
to spend a few dollars).

Showgirls Of Magic

Comments: This was my first DLV, so I had never seen
SOM before. I liked it, but felt very uncomfortable
in the theatre as I was in the back and squashed
between two rather large folks. I also thought that
the lead dancer Katherine was extremely talented and
charismatic, but there seemed to be a drop off after
that.

Thursday, April 28:

(I spent the day shopping).

Folies Bergere at the Tropicana Hotel.

Comments: I wish there was some sort of communication
that we needed to pay Aiko in advance sometime earlier
in the week. Not only was I waiting without a
pre-paid ticket, but several other girls (who have
been to DLV before) were also waiting with me to
purchase tickets. At the last minute, Aiko came by
and said that she made a made a ticket run earlier in
the week and that if we wanted, we needed to buy them
at the box office. This wasn't a problem as there
were tickets still availble, but seemed disorganized.

To help matters in the future, perhaps during NSDII
when monies are being collected in the Sahara's
parking lot, that is when ALL monies should be due and
can be taken by the activity organizers for
EVERYTHING. If you can't pay then, you take your
chances.

As far as the show goes, it was great! I enjoyed the
costumes, music and juggler. Only the seats were
uncomfortable, but better than Showgirls of Magic!.

Limo Tour.

Comment: This was absolutely GREAT! This was the
first time I ever did anything like that. It was one
of the highlights of my trip. I enjoyed having the
tourists and local folks take their pictures with us.
I also enjoyed seeing everyone dressed up and really
having a great time. Thanks to all of you (especially
Nora) that made my limo tour really something special.
I just objected to whoever it was that hugged me,
that they smeared their makeup on my beautiful gown.

Friday, May 7:

English High Tea at the Four Seasons

Comments: I don't know about anyone else, but being
transwoman, I have got to say this venue enabled me to
reach the epitome of my femminity. I was dressed in a
beautiful multi-colored pastel blouse with a white
skirt and straw wide brimmed hat. In meeting the
other girls upon my arrival, I noticed that everyone
took the time to look their best. The group looked so
stunning!

The tea lasted two (plus) hours, where we had a tower
placed in the center of the table that included
scones, finger sandwiches and cookies. The tea that
my table selected was oolong from China. The Four
Seasons is one of the nicest, upscale hotels you could
ever visit, so that made for an even nicer time.

For two plus hours, we sat around, drinking tea,
gossiping and just enjoying our mutual femminity. (I
also gave some femme lessons to those at my table).
This was one of the best times I've had in a long,
long time. Thank you to whoever suggested this.
Hopefully in the future, more activities like this
will be included at DLV.

Comment: The service was slow, but very polite. I had
to wait quite some time until someone gave me a menu
and a place setting. The food was also slow in coming
to the table. But once it arrived, it was really
good. Despite the slow service, the only gripe I have
is that they couldn't under any circumstances give me
my own check.

An Intimate Evening with Michael Cagle

Comment: I thought he was talented, but he stood away
from the stage lights which made him at times hard to
see. Also he seemed to get ticked off when several
girls were chatting. Otherwise, I thought he sung his
heart out.

Comment: He was really good, but the place was smoky.
When they opened the doors, it was freezing but still
smoky.

Again, I want to thank everyone for making this week
one the best week's in my life. Thank you Annie and
all those volunteers that made this possible. I will
miss all of you so, so much. You have changed me (for
the better) and I will not forget it.
