Thanks for the DLV 2005 memories!

This was my fourth DLV, and while they have all been different, this
year was really different as I was accompanied by my SO. The SO had been
to other gender events with me, but not for an entire week or in public
venues. We both had a great time, although I probably remained more
sober and reserved than otherwise.

Unlike others who have reported harassing comments, I had a perfect
week. Shopping various malls and makeovers at the MAC counter with my SO
were especially nice! The best aspect of the week was the increased
understanding my SO gained from attending! But, I also enjoyed being
with people who have become friends! We are both already looking forward
to next year!

Sunday our flight was delayed by weather and we missed church at the
MCC. 6:00pm Happy hour and dinner at Hamburger Mary's was a serious
disappointment for my dining companions. Service was slow, their food
didn't come in a timely manner, when it came, it was the wrong food, and
the corrected food was seriously uncooked and had to be returned. In
spite of all of this, my veggie burger was perfect and I'm ready to go
back!

8:30pm Welcome celebration (Zingers - SV) - I was pleasantly surprised
and especially enjoyed talking to Ricki and Carla who really did go out
of their way to make us feel welcome the entire week.

Monday
11:00am Valley of Fire side trip (VOF State Park - MS) - I did the
Sahara Buffet, but my SO went on the Valley of Fire trip which started
her off with a great experience. She also let me know she was
disappointed I wasn't along.

1:00pm Lunch with or without Ginger - I was surprised by the 12 people
who showed up for lunch on Monday and during the week I continued to be
surprised by the increasing numbers every day. I want to apologize for
missing Thursday, but I was kidnapped and held hostage by power
shoppers! Unlike other years I had a couple of chances to eat at more
pricey buffets and for my diet, consisting of mostly salad items and
fresh fruits and vegetables, the Sahara was superior. However, meat and
seafood selections, dining ware, and service were much much better at
the others, but at a cost of twice as much or more than the Sahara.

2:00pm Walk your lunch off with Ginger - I walked alone each day and
further than I had intended since the weather was so nice. I wore Keds,
but next year I'm bringing real walking shoes! This event wins the award
for least attended and avoided in next year's schedule!

6:00pm Happy hour and dinner at the Bahama Breeze Restaurant - The food
was OK, but not special. The service was horrible. We were the last to
get our checks making me late to Paddy's where I was the hostess.

8:30pm Mainstream option Paddy's Bar - Paddy's bar was in a nice
facility, the bartender was great, and the regular patrons pleasant
drinking companions. We brought our own Celtic entertainment. In summary
it was a low key evening.

Tuesday
9:00am Sunbathing and 10:30am Lake Mead Boat Cruise - My SO enjoyed the
cruise, but at Lunch with Ginger there were complaints that no
transportation was at Zingers for the boat outing. My SO says the group
she went with waited a long time for stragglers so who knows what
happened to those who missed the ride to the lake?

5:00pm Night of the Soiled Doves II - After last year this was a great
disappointment in regard to time with the girls and the food. The food
was terrible even the canned soft drinks! Remember the Christmas 2004
message on the cans? There were NO diet drinks at all! Apparently the
house was busy because the girls were frequently called in for
customers. However, when the girls were available, they were fun, seemed
to be curious about us and enjoying having us there!

Wednesday 6:00pm I did Happy hour and dinner at Bertolini's in Caesars
Palace and the facilities, food, and service were excellent Carluccio's
staff needs to go there for OJT.

10:00pm Showgirls Of Magic - My SO finally got to see a show and it was
especially fun seeing Tony in a leading role what natural talent! :)

Thursday
I was kidnapped by power shoppers and fed lunch at the Rio Buffet which
was good, but pricey, and for my diet probably not the best!

7:30pm Folies Bergere - My SO finally got to see a big show and was
impressed. Sadly I must confess the SO went to the restroom immediately
afterwards! :)

9:20pm Limo tour - Jamie Rene and Tootsie have this event timed to the
second and it was perfect in every regard! My SO finally understands the
thrill of riding around Las Vegas in a limousine caravan!

Friday
2:00am Charles bar - The companionship and drinks were great, but my SO
and I are getting past all-nighters so we caught a cab home around 3am!

1:00pm Bellagio lunch - The Bellagio Buffet food was good, although
pricey, and for my diet probably not the best. Besides our dining
companions, the photo opportunities afterwards were the high point, but
my media card had not been properly cleared and we only got a few.

7:00pm Michael Cagle Show - Michael tried, but Steven David and his band
are more to my taste. My SO and a friend saw Splash at the Rivera and
joined us at the restaurant following. They had dinner upon arrival and
along with several others we stayed much later than we had intended.

10:00pm Lou Martinez Revue - Another good band. However, getting past
all-nighters we left around midnight missing more Steven David, Lou, and
Krave. Note to self: Get back to Las Vegas soon for Krave, more Steven
David, and more Lou Martinez!

Saturday
6:00pm Happy hour and dinner - Being as positive as I can, let's just
say Carluccio's staff needs OJT! I participated, but won't ever set foot
in the place again! We ended the evening at a Bellagio bar with
wonderful drinking companions! Note to self and others: Will Steven
David's place accommodate our group?

Sunday we lunched at the Paris Hotel, toured the new Wynn, saw Zumanity
at New York, New York, had a quick dinner, and flew home. Unlike our
flight out this one was perfect and we arrived home early! Note to self
and others: Fly Independence Air for a great low fare and super
personnel! Another note to self and others: Zumanity is a show every
DLVer would enjoy, including those of us who have already seen it there
is so much going on it is impossible to catch it all! Is a group rate
possible? Last note to self: Keep SO happy and make reservations for
Cirque du Soleil O tickets others? in a timely manner next year! Note
to others: Is this something other DLVers would enjoy; maybe as an
alternative event?

Ginger,

Meeting and hanging out with Kaye was one of the highlights of the week for
me. It makes me feel that there is hope for me when I meet such an
understanding and caring spouse.

Love ya,

Gina
