JoAnne,

I'm glad you are interested in Diva Las Vegas 2005. In 2001, I was
curious, as you are, about attending a transgender event. Yes, there
are quite a few to choose from. I chose DLV because I simply love Las
Vegas, and I'm so glad I did.

In all honesty, I haven't made an attempt to attend any other event,
simply because Diva Las Vegas outshines them all. The format is being
on vacation, rather than attending a convention. You can pick and
choose what activities you wish to attend, and only pay for the
activities that require payment, such as meals, shows, and the like.
DLV has no registration fee and is run by volunteers.

You will also like the culture and climate of Diva Las Vegas. We have
very few of the type that seeks attention to satisfy their ego-trips by
trying to be in the spotlight. The vast majority of the ladies and
gentlemen who attend DLV try hard and succeed in blending with the
general population quite well.

DLV is a good first step into the real world. Also, if you feel you
need assistance prior to or during DLV, help is available through the
Big Sister program.

Please try to attend this year. But beware, after you've experienced
Vegas en femme, you will definitely want to return again and again and
again. :)

Huggs,

Aiko

Diva Las Vegas is indeed totally different than any of the other major
t-community events. It's not centered around a hotel and the activities
occur all over the LV metro area.

Aiko brings up a very good point here.

In the t* community there is a certain amount of self-promotion,
ego-tripping, one-upping, things like that. We see very little of
this at DLV. With very rare exception, the people who come to DLV
are fun-loving and outgoing, but not self centered. That is a very
refreshing change.

I know that anybody who has been involved with the t* community for some
time knows exactly what I'm talking about. :)
