> Wow 3k for the week?
That figure sounded a bit high to me too, but when looking at the survey, it does jibe with the "total cost of ownership" figure cited by this year's attendees, which is $2866.92. If you divide this by the average days attended, it comes out to $535 per day. If staying 6 days, that's 3 kilobucks easily.
I do admit that DLV is not as affordable as we would like it to be. I remember paying $20-ish for rooms at the Stardust for DLV back in the late 1990s. My hotel this year came out to $82 per night once taxes and nuisance fees were considered and that was a special rate that I probably will not be able to get next year.
> I usually spend 200 a day max
For me, I can figure it out quite easily this year. I "carded" only air, hotel, monorail pass, and long term parking and I brought $1500 cash with me. Credit card statement shows $576 for hotel, $436 for air, $48 for long term parking at the airport, and $56 total for Monorail which comes to $1116 and change. Add to that $1500 and it comes to $2616 which is just under the average. I stayed 7 nights this time so that comes out $374-ish per day. Definitely not cheap.

This year I really did not do any higher-end meals. The most expensive meal I remember this year was LWG on Monday. I mostly did the hotel's coffee shop, a few buffets, and a few of the midscale places the DLV gang was doing. I used cash for everything I did not card above, did some mall shopping, casino surfing, bar drinks, tips, taxi fare, etc., and I went through almost all of the $1500. I did not do a rental car this year.
