Speaking of Pinkfest ...

As many of you know, DLV 2017 is just two weeks away and it would be beneficial to us (Pinkfest folks) if we could announce the dates for Pinkfest at this year's DLV.

I've spot-checked some hotel rates for October and found a spike in the rates during the week of October 4. Googling shows that to be the week(end) of the Chicago Marathon.

Rates are more reasonable (translated: less outrageous) during the weeks of October 11 and October 18.

Would there be any objections to holding Pinkfest either during the span of October 11 - 15 or October 18 - 22?

I think earlier is better. Of the dates you've suggested, obviously 10/11 to 10/15 is my pick. The latter conflicts with the local support group and I'm trying to support that group as much as I can.

That said, I'm in Laura's camp of having it even earlier. Who is open to having it during one of the last two weeks of September?

Do any of these dates have conflicts with Chicago area support groups?

Also, what's the verdict on a Tuesday start like we had in 2016? Did anyone find that beneficial? Did anyone not like it?

Last year I did have a conflict in late September but this year it's early enough that if the gang wants it, I can (hopefully) steer other things around the dates.

My desires and concerns are primarily the turnout, and if an earlier timespan will give a better turnout I'm all for it.

I have an occasional recurring conflict on some Tuesdays but I won't know for sure until the week is selected and it maybe won't be certain until later. I'm not everyone, and Pinkfest is like DLV that you can participate as much or as little as you like, so again, if the gang wants it, I'm all for it.

I'm good for the last week of September, starting on Tuesday. I'd call that my first preference. My second choice is the second week in October. I'd prefer that we do NOT go to the third week of October.

I hope we get some more feedback in the next week or so.

I'm good for Pinkfest anytime you all want to pick in October and looking forward it it. For those of you who don't know, my partner has been under treatment for multiple myeloma since last August including chemo and a stem cell transplant. We have about 60 more days of isolation before she can be out in the public. If things go as expected by late August she should be pretty much back to normal, but will still have restrictions until February next year. I've been the sole caretaker and it's been intensive. I need a break and by October I am sure I can get away without much in the way of problems!

The above will also explain why I am not in Las Vegas and have not been very visible on social media.

As for Las Vegas I'm missing being there!!
