[Moderator's note. This is a resend. This was inadvertently forwarded to

The Days Inn Days Inn Chicago Ohare Airport West
1920 East Higgins Road
Higgins & Oakton/I-90
Elk Grove Village, IL 60007 US
Phone: 847-437-1650

If I understood the clerk there is a shuttle service to and from Ohare
from 4 a.m. until 2:a.m every morning. Given the alternatives (it
appears no hotels are available downtown for less than $300+ per night
during the period Oct 12 - 15) this doesn't look too bad for the
price....but the best I was able to do for a cancelable rate was
$53.10. Anyone else planning on staying here?

My experience with Days Inn shuttles is that they are somewhat iffy, in
particular on the return trip, when coming back to the hotel from other
locations.

What I would definitely suggest if you're staying at the Elk Grove
Village Days Inn is to rent a car, just a little $#!+box, since the cost
of the car plus the Days Inn will be far less than most downtown places.

If you don't wanna drive into the city, there's a park-n-ride at
Rosemont (I know you remember that station) or even better, a large
enclosed lot at Cumberland, which is actually close to where I'll be
staying.

Also, the drive from your Days Inn to the Jannas/Winberies area is not
too bad.

It isn't bad. I've stayed there. The big advantage is that if you end up
at Hunters, it's just a couple hundred feet from Hunters to your room.
You don't have to worry about driving back under the influence, bumming
a ride, or taking a train or taxi.

That's what I would suggest, anyway. :)
