I won't be able to make Tuesday night. I've tried re-arranging my schedule but it just isn't gonna work.

However, I can assure you that the Downtown Bar will be very comfortable and "safe" for a first night out!

I don't do Uber. No particular reason, just don't so far anyway. Ginger is the Uber Geek(babe) and should be able to comment.

I take taxis semi-frequently in Chicago and never had any issues. They are usually available via "hail" (stand at the curb and hold your finger up) in most well-traveled areas of the city. If you're shy about using your voice in a taxi, write out your destination address in LARGE letters on a piece of paper and hand it to the driver.

No worries! Pinkfest has been to the Downtown bar many times in the past. It is a very friendly, somewhat upscale gay bar with lots of professionals from the loop as well as a few tourists in the River North area.

The good news is that Tuesday nights is Karaoke night, which usually brings a crowd. I have posted an invitation on my Facebook page too which has six people definitely coming, and an additional six maybes... So you won't be the only one. I am probably going to have dinner somewhere near by before heading over to the Downtown bar.

I have never used Uber. But I have never had a problem getting a cab in Chicago.

Any additional info on Downtown Bar? I assume it is still on. About what time ?
