Following up on DLV 2016:

Thanks to all who attended and participated in our 20th. annual event!

Big thanks to out to all of our volunteers who made things happen! :)

We truly hope you enjoyed what our volunteers worked very hard to make
happen. For those who were absent, we missed you!

There are two questions which are very common right after our event:

1. How many people attended?

2. When will the photos be posted?

As for how many were present, we won't know until we reconcile our
sheets and electronic sign-in records and we receive reports
from those who attended but for one reason or another were not able
to officially check in.

As to photos, please see the item on photos below in this mailing,
which includes hints on what you can do to help move things along.

Please help us keep our records in order.

We realize that not everyone who attended this year got the opportunity
to officially check in. Please accept our apology for this.

We also had an unfortunate issue this year where one of our check-in
sheets was accidentally discarded before those marked on it as present
were tabulated.

If you find yourself on the list below, please let us know if you DID or
DID NOT attend this year. (Simply reply to this mailing.)

If you DID attend, please let us know the first DLV activity you
attended so we can get you checked in post facto.

Also, if you attended and you see someone on this list who you KNOW with
100% confidence did attend, please write in (simply reply to this
mailing) and say so.

If you DID NOT attend, please let us know as well so we can get you
accounted for and so you won't get a seemingly endless series of
nag-o-grams as we chase down stragglers. You don't need to explain
anything, we just want to be sure we have things properly recorded.

In either case, a note to dlv@divalas.vegas is fine, or you can reply to
this message and we will mark you one way or the other.

While your memories of the event (hopefully all good) are fresh in your
mind, please take a few minutes to give us some very valuable evaluation
and feedback on this year's event.

We truly appreciate everyone's attendance, participation, and feedback
on the event as a whole and the individual activities. The survey should
take about five minutes to complete.

Please take the survey only once, but with one exception. If you wish to
add (additional) textual comments in any of the comment spaces, please
re-visit the above URL, skip all of the checkboxes, and enter your new
additional comments, suggestions, etc.

If you attended as a couple or group, please have each person fill out

Call For Photographs:

We are fortunate to have the largest and most complete collection of
photos of any of the major TG events. Of course, we wish to continue the
tradition for our 2016 event.

We're asking those who attended and took photos to please submit them
for our collection. The Call For Photos is open now and will remain open
through the month of May.

Here's how you can submit the photos:

1. Re-visit your Attendee Information Portal. You will now see the
"Upload Photos" option. Click on the button and select the photos on
your computer to upload. With most browsers you can upload multiple
photos in one action.

2. E-mail. Simply attach your photos (any reasonable number to any
message) and e-mail to: dlv@divalas.vegas

You can use a .zip, .tar, etc. file if you like, but it's not necessary.

3. FTP. If you wish to use this method, write in and we'll give you the
login credentials.

4. Snailmail. You can send prints, a CD/DVD, a USB stick, or whatever.
If you want to do this, write in, we'll send you the snailmail address.
("Never underestimate the bandwidth of a DVD traveling on a UPS plane at
500 MPH!") :) We'll return the photos and devices to you if you wish.

As for size, the bigger the better, of course :) but the default size
coming out of most digital cameras is fine. To be of meaningful size,
they should be 500 pixels on the longer side at minimum.

Photos taken with a phone are fine as long as they are clear and crisp
and of the minimum size above.

As for quality and adjustments, we have automated batches that normalize
size, brightness, and contrast. Most photos taken with a reasonable
quality digital or film camera present very well. If sending in prints,
plain ordinary drug store mini-lab prints scan and present quite well.

Prior to placing the photos on line for the public to see, we allow
those who attended to review them. Everyone who attended has a
reasonable number of no-questions-asked "NO WAY" deletions for any
photographs in which they appear.

Those who attended will also be able to recommend photos they like with
a "Like" button, which indicates that they find the photo to be
appealing and recommend it for the final DLV 2016 follow-up pages.

Here's the way all of this works.

As soon as we get the attendance reconciled, everyone who attended will
receive a link to the photo staging area. Those who attended will be
able to review the photos as they come in and, as noted above, mark them
for deletion or recommend them for the final DLV 2016 pages.

Now, as to when the photos will be on line for all to see ...

Here's the planned timing.

We'll keep the Call For Photos open through the months of April and May.
We will keep the staging area open for review until June 30, after which
we will start composing the final DLV 2016 follow-up pages. Target date
for roll-out of the pages will be in August of 2016, slightly earlier
than in most previous years.

Everyone can help move things along by following up on attendance
confirmations promptly and getting the photos in ASAP.
