Latest headcount:

As of this morning we have a validated headcount of 138. Thanks to all
for cooperating with the registration and validation procedure.

We do have 5 validations still outstanding as of this time. Please get
these in. You do need to read the validation e-mail carefully and
respond as indicated.

Speaking freely, responding with something like "I received this" or "I
will be there" makes it very obvious that you didn't read it. :)

Please read your validation e-mail, it's good for you! :)

You'll need to have a validated registration in order to participate
in activity sign-up. See below. Don't procrastinate. A couple of our
popular limited capacity activities, the Limo Tour, and the Night Of
The Soiled Doves, are expected to fill to capacity quickly.

We're still having problems with mailings to verizon.net and gte.net
addresses. Our logs show that only about 20% of our mailings to
Verizon and GTE addresses are being properly delivered. If you use an
e-mail address for DLV which is on Verizon or GTE, you might consider
switching it to an alternate account on a free provider such as Yahoo
or Hotmail, as those do seem to be consistently reliable.

>What's this all about?

Lunch With Ginger is our daily lunch, held at one of the casino buffets
each day. Ginger will be hostessing this Monday thru Friday of DLV week.

On Friday, Lunch With Ginger will be at the Bellagio Buffet, which is
quite spendy. For that day only, "Lunch Without Ginger" (Annie will
hostess) will be at the Sahara Buffet, and will be a lower cost
alternative for those who don't want to spend that much for lunch.

First of all, there's no registration fee. You don't have to send any
money anywhere, at least as far as DLV is concerned.

Everybody is responsible for their own travel, lodging, and meals,
and the cost of those will vary due to countless factors. If you're
concerned about cost, the back mailings (see link below) have all
kinds of information on how much things cost and ideas for saving.

Some of the optional activities do have a cost. This will be clearly
noted on the activity sign-up screen, and the method of payment for
each activity will be given.

Of particular note, details on golf appear in this week's activity
highlight. One pleasant surprise is that the price per player has
gone DOWN! this year. Thanks to Mindy for negotiating this.

Wedding details:

A number of recent questions have been on the topic of the wedding
activities which will happen on Friday afternoon and evening of DLV
week. Cheryl and Cyndi send in the following, which will answer many of
them.

Of particular note, if you wish to volunteer to serve as an attendant,
please reply to this mailing and say so, will put you in touch with the
couple.

In regards to the wedding, Cyndi and I were thinking there might be
DLV attendees who have never had the opportunity to serve as: maid of
honors, brides maids, etc.

At this time, we hadn't asked anyone because, other than a person or
two, we aren't familiar with too many who are attending DLV. We would
be interested in fielding emails of those wanting to see what could be
worked out.

Also, I read the post of questions regarding gifts. We really don't
treasure the idea of trying to travel home with 50 toasters or punch
bowl sets.

Cyndi loves Starbucks and Chili's if someone feels like rewarding an SO
with a gift card for being such a great support system for her CD mate,
but we absolutely don't expect anything. The more we have attend will
be the best present.

Activity sign-up:

On or about March 26, just one week from today, everybody who holds a
validated registration will receive a special e-mail containing a link
to their activity sign-up screen.

IF YOU HOLD A VALIDATED REGISTRATION AND DO NOT RECEIVE THIS ON OR
SHORTLY AFTER MARCH 26, SOMETHING IS WRONG AND WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT IT.
E-mail is not a perfect medium.

This is a one-stop shop for all DLV activities that need a sign-up or
a headcount.

You may change your activity selections by filling out your activity
sign-up screen again at any time.

For those activities which have limited capacity, it will be first
signed, first served, with a waiting list for those who don't make the
cut.

If you find that your favorite activity is full, please don't get
discouraged. People change their selections continuously, and yes there
may be no-shows. Throughout the history of DLV there have been very few
cases where somebody didn't get to do an activity they wanted to do.

The important thing is to let us know if for any reason you don't
receive this. Please be aware that this is coming and look for it.
