This mailing:

This mailing consists entirely of various items received after the large
mailing was put to bed earlier this week. This may or may not be the
last item you will receive, depending on if anything else of importance
comes in.

We've seen a number of mail errors over the past few days, in sending to
people on the list. Yahoo people have been reporting mail missing at
random, one hotmail user reported delays, and we're seeing bounces at
random from the accounts served by bigmailbox and outblaze.

To answer some concerns and questions quickly:

The Yahoo people who reported one or more items missing from the final
mailing, I hope you didn't mind a complete resend. It was much easier
just to requeue you with that last batch of registrations than to
manually send the pieces. Hope that's ok. :)

One more opening for golf. First come, first served. Write to
dlvgolf@geekbabe.com if you are interested in playing golf with the
DLV group on Friday morning.

A few comments came in about the SO's gathering. Location, directions,
etc. will appear in a special mailing to those who are (whose so's are)
signed up for it. This will happen just after activity sign-up closes,
which will be this weekend.

A few people wrote in asking if they could have the final mailing even
though they have not registered. No, sorry, that is for those who have
registered and have made plans to attend. If you have not registered and
are still interested in attending, yes, there is still time, but be sure
to get your hotel reservations in!

We'll accept registrations up to the very last minute possible. Several
activities are now full, but others are not. Those registering late will
receive last-minute instructions on how to meet up with the group and
participate as much as possible.

No, I was not kidding at all about taking a taxi to DLV activities if
necessary. Yes, it's perfectly safe to do to so. If there are not
already taxis waiting at the entrance to your hotel, ask the doorman to
get you one. (Don't forget the grease. :)

Swimming party update:

As of this time, Mindy expects that all people who were on the waiting
list will be ok to attend. Please check with Mindy at one of the early
DLV activities to be sure.

If you do not bring a side dish, donations will be appreciated to defray
costs.

Please car pool if possible, as parking in the neighborhood may be
limited.

See map and driving directions, sent out in the "final" mailing. There
will be a sign marking the exact location.
