I just submitted my registration and recieved a confirmation number. I
was wondering if you know of any RV parks in the area of where we will
be spending most of our time. We would like to bring our travel trailer
(30 feet long) because it is much cheaper than staying in the hotels.

This question does come up every so often, we might want to add this to
the FAQ.

The only RV park I'm aware of that still exists on the main part of the
LV Strip is at Circus-Circus. (I think this is still open.)

Silverton, which is waaaaayyyyy south and arguably kind of on the Strip
does have an RV section. I've stayed at Silverton many times on business
and the hotel and casino are nice.

In the downtown area, the California has an RV park which is a couple
blocks north of the main Fremont Street Experience area. WARNING: THE
WESTERN (downtown) DOES HAVE RV PARKING. DO NOT EVEN >>THINK<< OF
STAYING THERE. THE HOTEL IS A MAJOR DUMP AND IN A VERY SEEDY AREA.

When the current Castaways was the Showboat, they had RV parking, but I
don't know if the current management still has this. This is on Fremont
Street kinda between the downtown and Boulder Strip areas. Not the best
part of town, but not the worst by far.

Those are the closest ones I'm aware of to the center of the DLV action.

On the Boulder Strip (Boulder Highway), I think both Sams Town and
Arizona Charlie's East have RV sections. These are not too far away.

I can't think off hand of anybody who has done DLV in a RV, but if you
do this, please give us feedback both on the convenience of doing so and
of the place you stay.

Just did a search on Google.com for Campgrounds Las Vegas & RV Parks Las
Vegas and there lots of information under each searh. I am sure that can
find what you are looking for there.

Sure hope this helps!

Rhamona,

I have brought my R/V to Las Vegas many times, but I did not bring it
to Diva last year! I wanted to be closer to where most of the girls
were staying! Many years ago The Stardust had R/V spaces behind the
casino. This was really nice and handy to everything, but it has been
closed for sometime. About l8 months ago, I stayed for a few days at the
Riviera. It is close to the intersection of Sahara Boulevard and Boulder
Highway. It is not fancy, but was adequate for a few days and it only
took me about 10 minutes to get to the strip.

Last year in February, I stayed several days at Circus Circus. It kind of
pissed me off that they do not have cable hookups at the sites. I guess
that they wanted me in the casino gambling and not watching TV! The
other thing that pissed me off was the high price they wanted from me to
hook up my laptop to the internet! Outrageous! I will not be staying
there again! But it is handy to the strip. When we go to LV in the
motorhome again, we will probably stay at the Silverton! If we avoid the
rush hour traffic, it should only take a few minutes to get to the strip
area It does appear that the Silverton has on site modem hookups for
laptops! I have not stayed there, but Sams Town looked nice!

Hope this helps!

Hugs, Tootsye
