Shopping: Belz closing?

I just returned from LV this past friday. Several ggs on the plane back
home who went shopping, and had gone to Belz gave some information/rumor
that will have to be confirmed by someone who lives in LV. This will
affect our mall shopping, for our group does go to Belz.

They reported that Belz is closing down. Many outlet stores that are in
that mall are currently having major sales, and some have already closed
their doors. I'm not sure if its because of financial reasons like lack
of business, or something else. They may be just re-organizing or
whatever.

The sales can just be just general sales, but these ggs hinted that it
looked like going out of business type of sales, along with saying that
some 'name' stores have already closed or are no longer there.

I wasn't able to get out to Belz to confirm this rumor, having heard it
on the plane going back home.

So has anyone else heard/read anything? And can a local gal check and
settle this rumor?

Haven't heard anything about Belz closing either. I watch the local
news every day and there hasn't been anything about that.

There were a few stores empty for awhile but they have been re-occupied
with new tenants.

I'll keep an eye out if I don't get over there personally to check it
out.

I'll ask on the newsfroup today and see if anybody has heard of anything.
We don't have any shopping trips planned for Belz this coming year, but
I always end up there whenever I'm in the area.

Personally I find this kind of hard to believe. Even since 9-11 they
have had good business every time I've been there.

A friend and cow-orker just returned last week from LV. She said that
she had shopped there but said nothing about anything unusual.

I'll let you know what I hear.

Per the belz.com website there is nothing to indicate the Belz mall in
Las Vegas will close. Belz is doing very well here and last time I
drove by it the parking lot was pretty crowded, (on a weekday). Belz
mall isn't going anywhere. Sincerely, ANYA, in Las Vegas.
