Welcome:

This mailing will give general information about the Diva Las Vegas 2025
event.

Please accept our apologies for the tardiness of this mailing and for the
unusual lateness this season in announcing our event's timeframe. We
wanted to be sure that the volunteers were indeed on the same page and
that a timespan was agreed upon and workable before we made any kind of
an announcement.

Welcome to those who have just joined this list. If you have any
questions or concerns, please let us know. Simply reply to any of
these mailings.

You can expect general mailings discussing the status of our 2025 event
to come out at least monthly between now and October.

Diva Las Vegas 2025 dates:

The DLV Volunteer Group has just voted, by significant majority, to hold
Diva Las Vegas 2025 from Monday, October 13 through Thursday, October 16.

These dates have now been marked as tentative on our web site.

As is customary each year, a one-month Call For Comments is now in place,
to conclude on or about April 13, 2025.

Please do not make any non-reversible arrangements (non-changeable air
fare, non-refundable hotel rooms, etc.) until the dates are final.

Comments on the DLV 2025 dates, good or bad, may be made either on the
DLV Discussion Forum, which is on line here:

.. or by simply replying to any of these mailings.

If no significant issues turn up during the Call For Comments period,
the dates of October 13 - 16 will be come final on or about April 13,
2025.

It should be noted that only once within our 27-year history have we
changed event dates after tentative dates were announced. This was due
to a room rate spike caused by a previously-unknown major event.

Registration for DLV 2025 is expected to open in late June or early
July.

Hotels:

As of this writing, we do not yet have an officially-designated primary
hotel or any officially-suggested hotels.

The volunteers are currently in discussion regarding hotels, both
regarding hotels to suggest and the possibility of discount rates.

Although this is nothing near to being a done deal, there is quite a bit
of "buzz" regarding making the Tuscany Hotel And Casino our primary
hotel for DLV 2025.

The Tuscany is about 1/2 of a mile (driving or walking distance) east of
the Las Vegas Strip on Flamingo Boulevard.

We also expect to have a number of attendees stay at the Linq and
Flamingo hotels, both on the Strip and in the vicinity of the Tuscany.

At DLV, you are free to stay wherever you wish. There are no
requirements to stay at any particular hotel.

Daily goings-on:

Although our daily schedule is not nearly ready for prime time yet, here
are some highlights that can be shared with everyone at this time.

* On Sunday, October 12 (not officially on schedule) we are planning to
bring back our Pre-DLV get-together as an informal activity open to both
registered attendees and prospective attendees.

* On Monday evening, October 13, we plan to have our usual opening
gathering and related activities.

* Tuesday, October 14, is tentatively planned to be multi-track, both
daytime and evening, with multiple activity and dining choices.

* On Wednesday evening, October 15, we're planning on the "60's Retro
Rock Revolution" to highlight the evening, as a follow-up to a very
successful affair of a different theme in 2024.

* On Thursday evening, October 15, we will feature our usual closing
gathering and related activities.

Golf and other recurring activities have not been assigned timeslots
yet.

When our DLV 2025 schedule has taken some shape, we will be posting the
working copies of the daily and hourly schedule in these mailings.

Call For Volunteers:

We are still in need of some more volunteers to help primarily with the
smaller daytime activities, in order to fill in and round out our
schedule.

The good news is that all of the "heavy lifting", meaning the planning
of the major activities that require "real work" is spoken for and will
be taken care of.

If you are interested, we would love to have you join our Volunteer
Group and hear what you would be willing to do to help out.

Current active volunteers and those who filled out the volunteer screen
following last year's event do not need to re-volunteer.

Volunteers who successfully coordinate or meaningfully assist with one
or more activities during our event qualify for voting status within the
Volunteer Group.
