> What hotel do attendees typically stay at?
Everywhere and anywhere, really. Some have their faves, some shop for price, others for location and convenience.
Recently, some of our people have had good luck using AirBnB. I'll let those who have done it chime in.
Personally, I've tried many things, and I've found that I enjoy Pinkfest (or any other Chicago trip) most if I pay a bit more and get a name brand centrally-located hotel. I'm finding that as I get older I'm far more willing to pay for convenience. I've just learned to hold my nose when I pay at the desk!
I've done the motels in the burbs, the supposedly-renovated vintage hotels, the "compromise" "OJ Hotel", and I've settled on the major brands where I know the room will be decent and everything will work and such.
If you have not read our blurb on hotels, it's on line here.
http://www.geekbabe.com/pinkfest/hotels/We had a recent report that someone had a first-hand good experience at one of the cheaper places (Ohio House) so that may be a compromise between convenience and cost.
