October TRANcinema

Laura sends in the following regarding the Saturday TRANcinema
during Pinkfest.

Input as to what film you might want to see are welcome.

Also, for those looking forward to Rori's Halloween party on
Pinkfest Saturday, don't worry. The way it looks, we'll be
having a two-track evening, with one track being TRANcinema
at the Center followed by Quality Social Time in the area,
and the other track being Rori's H'ween gig ...

Hello Laura,
It has been ages. How are you?

Yes, I do remember our talking about the idea of having something at the
center, and the movie screening is perfect.

We have not scheduled a film for October yet.

Are there any films that you think the group might enjoy seeing?

I have a medium sized collection, and we can use our Netflix account as
well. I will send you a list of my films, and you are free to poll the
group.

Would you like for me to give a tour of the center before the film?

Oh, one thing, if we do go ahead with the idea, it would be very
important to have a good idea of attendance, as far ahead as possible.

The room we usually use holds about 22 people, and my usual attendance
is about 10. We do have larger spaces we could use,with some advance
planning.

Another important point. While some of my events are "closed", that is
for "those who identify as Transgender, or are questioning their own
gender", the TransCinema has always been one for which I encourage trans
folks to invite Significant Others, Family, Friends and Allies.

Since we do have a discussion afterward, it is a great time for people
to have a meaningful, shared experience.
