Welcome to the Pinkfest list and/or Yahoo group!

We've had a number of joins on both sides over the
past week or so. I recognize quite a few of the recent
joins as DLVers.

Pinkfest is kind of like DLV in that it's a vacation
and not a convention, but there are some differences.
Pinkfest is much smaller and probably will be so for
some time. Also, obviously, Pinkfest is in Chicago and
DLV is in Las Vegas. :) Pinkfest also has less
formality with regard to registration and such than
DLV has.

The proposed dates for Pinkfest 2008 are Thursday,
October 23 thru Sunday, October 26. These dates are
not final and the floor is still open.

The Thursday thru Sunday timeframe has worked out
quite well over the past few years. Like DLV, you'll
see people joining and departing each day.

As for hotels, there are basically two types of
options. First is downtown for rates that are anywhere
between moderately expensive and totally obscene.
Second is out in the 'burbs for very reasonable rates.

Choosing a suburban hotel, with few exceptions, will
require you to have a vehicle. Many people do,
however, do Pinkfest without a vehicle at all.
