A couple of additional ideas, around Oak Park....

Pleasant Home Tour and Oak Park Historical Society: Pleasant Home,
Historical Society of Oak Park and River Forest, Oak Park, IL | Metromix
Chicago

This house/museum is the 1897 masterwork of Arts and Crafts architect
George Washington Maher. Maher was intent ... Though, the historical
society appears to be housed in a separate building now.

And, while not actually in Oak Park the glorious Garfield Park
Conservatory is right off the Green Line L on the way to/from downtown.

On Sundays, there is a brunch at Appellation in Andersonville. The first
Sunday usually features jazz by a musician who is known for being
especially friendly to the LGBT community:

I could see where an evening in Rosemont, perhaps with dinner and a
visit to Zanies comedy club would work:

I'm not much into casinos, but there is Rivers just down the street,
also, if its anyone's cup of tea, maybe for late night entertainment,
especially:

I am into casinos, and I can say without much disagreement that Rivers stinks!

It's the only casino in that area and it's an incredible captive-audience sellers' market! Very poor odds.

Harrah's Joliet is much better and Horseshoe Hammond is better still. Grand Victoria is, well, there. :)
