Chicago Symphony - MAHLER 5

Postby laurawright » Tue Aug 19, 2014 2:11 pm

A couple of years ago, Ginger and I went to the Chicago Symphony one afternoon for Pinkfest.
I enjoyed it and would like to go back. Anyone interested? It could fit into the schedule on Friday afternoon.

Chicago Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Robert Chen plays Bartók’s two Violin Rhapsodies, impassioned works filled with Hungarian folk music and demanding brilliant virtuosity. Mahler’s gorgeous Fifth Symphony reflects many moments of personal significance to the composer, including the ravishing Adagietto that was a musical love letter to his wife, Alma.
